hi i'm looking to upgrade soon as i will be moving house . i'm looking for recommendations as to which is better with multi room function for 4 rooms - sky Q or glass . i currently have sky +.

I can really only comment on the Sky Q side of things. For Sky Q it's Multiscreen.

You can have a maximum of 4 mini boxes loaned to you by Sky. You can watch Sky content on two minis and the main box at the same time. You may be able to use a third mini box if the first one in use is being used for a streaming app ie: Netflix or DIsney+.

Each mini box which is loaned to you may be subject to a one off upfront charge but you only need one Sky Q monthly Multiscreen subscription.

Sky Glass is called Whole Home.

If you have individual Sky+ boxes in each room at the moment then there is no comparable system available with Sky.

Sky Q with multiscreen only permits one main box, onto which everything is recorded. Miniboxes then stream the recordings from that main box on a generated WiFi mesh network to individual miniboxes.

Sky Stream does not have any local recording of any kind. It is also only worth considering if you can ensure your new property will have a suitably fast and stable broadband network in place with sufficient bandwidth to sustain streaming on 4 devices at the same time.

If you want to watch in 4 roooms at the same time, then this is not possible with SKY Q - although if watching the same content you might be able to find solutions to split the signal (HDMI splitters or possibly HDMI to RF extractors)

You may, also, wish to read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q

SKY +/HD to SKY Q

SKy Glass with pucks or SKY stream may be more suitable but these rely on good internet.

Personally (& probably many here) offer caution regarding SKY Glass rather than Stream as you are likely to get a better smart TV & SKY Stream which wouldn;t have the limitations that Glass does - SKY Glass TVs are not like other Smart TVs and now in TV terms quite old. - so we only suggest SKY Glass if you have fully explored it and alternatives & find it will meet your futire needs
