Sky Sports App not streaming

Trying to use the sky sports app on my SkyQ box but running into issues.

Currently my satellite services are down but the App streams so it shouldn't be an issue.

When trying to stream in the App, specifically foot all the following error shows :

"this stream is not currently available. Please press back to exit the stream and try again later. Comp6"

Annoying this only happens on the live football, I can watch tennis via the app but not football.

Rebooted the box, router, refreshed apps and ensure up to date. No resolution.

This is the only way I can watch the football until my satellite gets fixed.

hi @Jarrad

The live football feeds are just that 'Live' - they are not recordings so if you are trying to watch when the game is not being played then you will encounter such problems

If you are getting this problem during a specific game then post which game & we can check whether it is working for others

I'm getting the error on every "Football" channel on the sky sports app on sky Q box.

Sky sports football+ seems to sometimes work but never the sky's sport football or sky sport Premier league.

It shows the error as stated in initial post.

Currently the only live game seems to be Crystal Place vs Man U - which only started 10 minutes or so ago - so can you confrim that you get the message on this game

Have you tried the SKY Sports app on a mobile device such as phone or tablet ?

BTW @Jarrad If you don't have a Satellite Signal then you need to be aware that the whole box may shutdown.

SKY Q boxes need an authorisation signal sent via the Satellite periodically.

The box will work for a time but will stop working if it does not get the signal when due

This could be a few weeks but may also be just a day or two,

So the 12:30 kickoff on sky sports football had the error and the current crystal palace game is also showing it now.

I've got a theory, though I am using the sky sports app which streams the games. If it's on a "main channel" for example, Sky Sport PL, the Sky Sports App doesn't stream the feed via broadband but still uses the Internet?

Tablet/Mobile is fine.

AFAIK the app always uses the internet (via boradband) - I just tried unplugging my ethernet cable & the app did give me the Stream not available

TBH I didn;t realise the app also included games that are showing via Satellite.

Not too sure if it a problem generally with your box or just beacuse you don;t have a Satellite Signal causing 'quirks' in the app

Same thing, satellite signal down, 2 weeks for an engineer, every other app works, but sky sports the most expensive doesn't, really, really poor.

Was there a resolution to this ? Same issue with comp6 message and very frustrating as Sattelite signal is down . Surely it should work just like Sky go app and just rely upon broadband connectivity . Very poor

No, and the (Removed) contributers had zero to say on the subject, rather than the usual approach of trying to justify something they know is inherently wrong.

Do the other apps work ?

If your box doesn't get a Satellite Signal for a period of time then all functions will cease, as it needs a periodic signal to keep it alive which is only sent via Satellite

I am afraid I don't know anything specifically about the comp6 message - personally I rarely use the Sports (or indeed other apps) on SKY Q

Yes all other apps work, as has been said in other posts, it really is something you would never know unless there was a dish or in my case outdoor cable issue. It's just bizarre when you can use every other app.

Please can let me know what actually happens for you when you try to watch the Sports app.

Can you also confirm your software version is currently Q270

The sky sport app loads and you can select something to watch . However every 'love' football event I try to watch to gets a spinning wheel and after approx 90 seconds a 'COMP6' error message - it basically then says it's can't stream it and to got back to menu. See attached image

same issue persists on both main skyq box and the mini box I have as part of multi room . Issue been going on for at at least a week .. Both boxes are on recent software versions and will send specific versions

all other apps work fine and issue seems to be 'streaming issue' at the sky end as apposed to an app issue

Needless to say I have just tried some live feeds and don't get this - although I currently have a Satelite signal.

I am recording something currently but when that ends I might try unplugging my Sat cables and see if I get anything similar with a live feed

OK - just disconnected the Sat Cables & tried this & I also get this message.

So it does appear that it is checking something via Satellite.

I will query this with SKY in case they can shed any light on this - although I guess the answer will be that you need a Sat signal

I know it is not the same but all I can suggest is using a Tablet or mobile phone

Having the same issues, dish was damaged in the wind so no signal being recieved, waiting for an engineer.

What I don't understand is the tennis will work on the app but not football, surely if a signal has to be recieved then then the tennis shouldn't play
