Adding a SKY Glass TV to a household operating with a SKY Q package

My daughter will be moving back in with us during a period of recuperation and sale of her house. She has a SKY Glass TV whereas we have a SKY Q package. Can the SKY Glass TV act as an additional TV simmilar to the extra box that we have for our son who also lives with us?

It can be used as an additional TV by plugging in mini box etc, your daughter won't be able to continie with a Glass TV Pack subscription as only one TV subscription service can be used at the address, so either Q or Glass, not both

So what you are saying is that a SKY Glass TV is no better than an ordinary TV in this instance and I will need to add another Mini Box for it to work or be compatible with our SQY Q system. Very strange because I understood that a Glass TV has the SKY Box within and works similarly to the mini box with WIFI although our son's mini box has had to be hard wired due to poor SKY wifi after trying boosters.

@DASUT The key is sky glass and sky Q are two separate tv subscription services

Sky does not allow more than one active tv subscription service at anyone time

Sky Q and Sky Glass are entirely different types of service.

Sky Glass does not have a "Sky box within" - it is merely a TV with some software that connects to a Sky server and allows programmes to be streamed over the internet.

Sky Q is a hard drive based recorder of programmes which are received via satellite. The two services are not the same and are not compatible with one another.

If your daughter is not in a long term contract with Sky then she can cancel her streaming TV subscription and use the Glass TV as a large monitor. You could attach another Sky Q minibox to it via HDMI and use your Sky Q subscription.

Thanks to you all for answering my question it is a pity that they aren't compatible it would have made life so much easier. I am guessing that my daughter is in a long term contract with Sky Glass but will get her to chat with Sky and looks as though we will need to add another mini box and hope that it works better than the mini we already have.

I have just signed up to Fibre and have new Hub arriving so hopefully that will improve the WiFi.

It could be easily argued that Sky Glass is nowhere near as good as a normal TV.
