Sky Q Internet

Ok, I'm confused. I am experiencing picture breakup problems with Sky Q apps. Sky and Live channels OK so not likely to be Dish or LNB.

By default, Skq Q uses WI-FI for programs, so maybe signal quality. Settings say OK

Re-configured Sky Q to use Ethernet rather than WI-FI. Restarted box.

Still getting picture problems on various apps so could be the cable. Unplugged the Ethernet cable from the back og the Sky Q box. OK, the program is still playing. Disconnect the two LNBs and the program is still playing! So it looks as if the Sky Q is using WI-FI even though it is not configured to do so.

Checked the cable with a tester and it shows OK.

Next step is to disable the WI-FI on the router

Can anybody explain what is going on or am I starring in an episode of the Matrix.

Thank you for the information. I can see that I'm not the only one suffering with this. It's just another nail in the Sky coffin.

Just for information, I have discovered that there is a delay between unplugging the Ethernet cable and the app video signal dying. So in my case the Ethernet is definitely live.
