Sounds like I'm going to have to network my house so they can all be hardwired (don't have a clue how to do this) or change to someone else, which I don't really want to do as apart from this issue I've never had a problem in the 20 years I've been with sky

I have been having problems with my sky q box and mini boxes internet connection dropping out constantly or struggling with streaming. If I contact sky the only three responses I get is 1. Switch the boxes off at the wall. 2. Switch the router off and on again. Or 3. My WiFi isn't good enough. All other devices in the house work perfectly including to the end of my garden. It is literally just the sky equipment. They keep advertising sky glass but can't even stream successfully through sky q so why would I upgrade??

It's not an upgrade

Q does have some uniquely quirky networking though.

My assumption is that these things are caused by minis trying to take over the connection to the router on behalf of all the sky boxes. Combined 2.4 and 5GHz SSIDs can also cause problems. I basically gave up on wifi.

My guess is you are not on Sky broadband?

No I'm not on sky broadband but that would be an extra rip off if the boxes will only work properly if you have sky broadband. Also I've had my main q box internet drop out with both minis switched off

Just in standby. It seems annoying that all other devices work all over the house and garden without issues

Need to power them down completely to eliminate their effect.

I know all other devices work fine, was the same for me. I gave up in the end and just use powerlines for my minis and disabled Q wifi completely.
