The red button does not appear on my sky Q boxes so I cannot watch football

I can access the red button on my main sky q box but it is not showing on the mini boxes. It used to be there. How do I get the access back

Hi @Cpm12345

First try rebooting the main Q box and then when this is completely back up and running reboot the mini.
To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

Reboot the mini as above.

I am not sure what specifically you can do to get the red button showing.

What happens if you press the (...) button next to the home button - do you get the SKY sports app showing ?

Also can you see if the SKY SPorts app is listed from Home - (scroll down) Apps

If the SKY Sports app i snot listed try a refresh of the Apps :

Main - Menu - Scroll down to Settings & do not press /Select/enter button at this stage -

then press 0, 0, 1 followed now by the enter/select button -

You should now be in the engineer's menu

Scroll down to the Apps & Select Refresh

@Cpm12345 Have you tried rebooting your mini Q box ie
putting your box into Standby then switching it off at the wall for 30 seconds
switch it back on then follow the on screen instructions

If that doesnt work try rebooting your main Q box ie
putting your box into Standby then switching it off at the wall for 30 seconds
switch it back on then follow the on screen instructions

then reboot you mini box

Thanks all, but tried all of that.

I want to watch the extra football games that are on the red button on the screen. Sky help doesn't even seem to know about this suggesting the red button is not used anymore.
But each night the commentators etc on TV say "to access the other games, use the red button". It works fine on my main box, just not on 2 of the mini boxes.

Hi, we updated all of the software earlier this week as Sky said that woud fix it. It did not.

I am happy to watch the games on the Sky Sports App in the App list, but should still be able to access the red button, as thats waht they say on the TV "Press the red button to watch the other games". I used to have this, its just dissappered.

No idea why the Red button would work on the main but not the mini if all the software & apps are up to date.

The red button, however, is now just a shortcut to the app on many channels

Probably the quickest route without the red button is to select the (...) button and then select it from there
