Soundbox Won't Turn On with Sky Remote

When my Soundbox is asleep with red light - it doesn't wake up when I press the standby button on my Sky remote. The remote turns on the Sky Q box. The remote is paired with the Soundbox - I can use it to turn up the volume etc.. on the Soundbox.

Can any one advise / help please

Hi @DavidMcK1

When pairing Q remotes to Soundar/Amps only volume control and mute are paired.

On/Off is always reserved for paired Television.

Ok - thank you.

So with my last TV (only changed over this week) then I didn't have any problems. I just used the Sky remote to turn on the Sky Q box and the TV and the Soundbox turned on as well. I assumed it was paired with the Sky, but like you say, it might have been paired with the TV.

Can you adise what I need to do with the set up between the 3 devices to get the Soundbox to come on when I turn on the TV and the Sky Q box.

Hi @DavidMcK1

You need to make sure that HDMI CEC control is turned on in all devices

Brilliant - thank you. So done that for the new TV. How can I check for the Sky Q box and the Soundbox. Sorry for so many questions.

Hi @DavidMcK1

Suspect your Q box HDMI control will be on if your Television comes on with your Q box using a short press on the remote standby button.

For info it's in

Home - Settings - Setup - Audio Visual. HDMI Control.

I don't believe there is a setting for the Soundbox and so it may be on by default

However the soundbox must be connected to the Television by HDMI
