I want to use a 4th sky q mini box in my house- but with Wifi instead of ethernet connected.

My Sky Q box and other 3 Minis are ethernet connected.

I have BT Broadband and a whole home mesh setup.

In the location of the 4th I would ideally want to connect the mini via wifi - can I do this - all the other boxes have wifi off?

Can you get to a menu where just that box can see the non Sky wifi and then connect rather than WPS to the main Sky Q box - it would be on the same network?

Thanks

Any Q to Q wifi connectivity has to be via it's own mesh and you cannot use a 3rd party one.

Enabling the wifi on the boxes may cause interference with the BT network.

Personally, I've used Wholehome to connect the boxes wirelessly by using the ethernet ports on the discs. The Q boxes won't hold a wireless connection to the discs.

Bear in mind you can only have 2 concurrent mini's for TV services.

Thanks for that - I may be in the realms of running a cable

out of interest if the tv is wifi connected could you use that signal to connect to sky mini via a cat 5 /6 cable ?

Incredibly unlikely: a wireless to wired 'bridge' mode would have to be supported by the television operating system as well as in hardware, and there's essentially no chance of that functionality being included in the product specification for a smart TV.
