Samsung TV with Sky Q main box taking ages to start up after standby

This has been going on for a while but getting worse. When I switch TV and SkyQ on from standby the TV comes on saying can't see anything connected after while a white spinning circle then eventually the SKy Q main screen comes up. I've carried out a reset and a software update but still no improvement. Only had this box less than a year

Hi @Rapo

Do you have HDMI CEC control switched on in both Q box and TV?

If so you just need to switch on the Q box with a short press on the Q remote Standby and the the TV will switch on by HDMI control

The TV and Sky Q box both switch on with one press of the standby button on the tv remote. TV comes on instantly looking for the Sky box

When you say TV remote I assume you mean the Sky Q remote

I have been using the Samsung smart remote to switch both on. It's always been that way is that maybe the issue that I should be using the standby on the Sky remote?

Yes you should be switching the Q box on with one short press on on the Q remote. @Rapo

Try that and I'm sure you will find that the Q box will immediately switch on the Television.

Unfortunately the Q box will not turn the Television off when you switch off the Q box with a short press.

However in the latest Q Software Sky made a change so that the Q box will switch off when you switch the Television off.

Thanks I tried that. One short press on Sky remote the TV comes on the screen is black for 15 seconds then the Sky Home Screen appears.

Does the Samsung have the All in one connect box?

I seem to recall that there has been issues with these and Q in the past.

No just standard HDMI sockets in the back of the TV

Assume you have checked that HDMI control (Samsung Anynet) is turned on in the Samsung?

So I unplugged everything and relinked the remote and hey presto seems to be working perfectly. Thanks everyone for your help much appreciated
