I think we need a little more to go on, tv make/model and what settings? Have you setup the Sky box correctly?

HDR is bright and 'pops' on my S95D as it was with my Q90R.

This will be due to the HLG format of HDR which is used on UHD live channels. If your TV does not have sufficient peak brightness then it will appear darker than the SDR HD channel equivalent.

Try tweaking your picture settings whilst watching the UHD HDR channel and see if you can get it to look any better.
