Signed up to sky multi room but no sky mini box sent?

I've just added sky multi room ( I did it over the phone) and I assumed I'd get a mini box sent but as yet nothing. My package has updated to show multiscreen but do I need to buy ( for £50) a mini box and if so why don't customer service make this clear ??

Yes you'll need to pay the admin fee for a mini box if you want one. (You are not buying the box)

The multiroom sub enables other functionality - a mini box is not mandatory but I agree they should have mentioned it...

Some Q subscribers have Multiscreen to facilitate Sky Go use on gaming consoles and/or Apple TV boxes, so don't require a physical Mini box.

As @PandJ2020 indicates, the per-box cost is a (non-refundable) fee, not a purchase price.

Historically Sky has shipped a first Mini 'free' (as long as it's specified in the order) but that may not be the case now.
