Samsung Frame TV - Sky Stream or Multiroom?

Hi there

Looking for pros and cons of connecting Sky Q to a Samsung Frame TV when TV and Q Box are at opposite ends of the room. Sky pushing me towards upgrading to Sky Stream but reviews I've seen are mixed and reviews on here seem to suggest that Sky multiroom doesnt work well either!! Any thoughts from a Sky user with a Frame TV appreciated!!

I'm confused, if your Q box is connected direct to your frame TV then there is no benefit for you to move to stream, a mini box would not help as it is HD only.

A stream box like Sky Q would still need to be connected directly to the TV's HDMI input.

Hi - sorry clearly didn't explain properly! Ideally we don't want to connect Sky Q box to the Frame TV as it will mean running cabling across the length of the room. Just not very nice to look at! Ideally we'd want to keep Sky Q box where it's currently connected - tucked away in a corner on an outside wall - but the Frame TV will be wall hung on the other side of the room...

@Beths2 Any box regardless of it being Sky Q, Sky stream etc has to be connected via HDMI cable, otherwise you won't see a picture.

If the current location means running at least 1 cable, the you'll need to consider either moving the Q box and running extension satellite cable, or leaving it in its current location and running HDMI cable.

Where are you thinking of putting the stream puck? If it in the current location of your Sky Q box you're still going to need a long HDMI cable.

If you intend locating it near the Frame TV then yes you could use stream instead, however a point to note with stream is it needs stable & fast broadband especially if using WiFi.

You need 25mbps for HD & 30mbps for UHD.

Presuming your frame TV is installed and using WiFi open the netflix app, go to Get help and run the speed test, that should give you an indication of your WiFi speed at the TV's location.
