    <description>&lt;P&gt;Did you ever get to the bottom of this?? Mine has done the same after I had to reset the box because netflix wouldn't load.       <title>Sky Q Remote Sonos Beam</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have been controlling the volume on my Sonos beam soundbar with my Sky Q remote for several years. A couple of weeks ago it stopped working.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If I try and set it up again from the Sky Q setup menu it doesn't recognise Beam as a valid type of Sonos,, and neither of the possible standard options works.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;if I try and set it up from the Sonos app it doesn't detect the Sky Q remote.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;have tried with the remote in both Bluetooth and IR modes. The Beam supports both.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;the Sky Q remote will control the volume on my Sony AF-9 and therefore the volume on the Beam. But any ideas why the Sky Q remote should have stopped controlling it.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;That's strange and I know there are 2 versions of the beam and 2 ways of connecting.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But assuming it's the gen 2 connecting via hdmi arc then yes the tv volume should control the beam. And the Q remote then just mimics the Sony remote. Can you tell if the sky remote tries to change the tv volume?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Model to model never sure if there's on screen feedback but does it at least look like it's trying to?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The only thing I can think is that the sky remote isn't programmed for the tv totally correctly. Assuming the beam is outputting sound correctly and the Sony remote is controlling it.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;That is the way it is working now. But it used to control the Sonus direct. I didn't need to have the TV or even Sky Q box on. I could alter the volume if streaming audio to the Sonus&lt;/P&gt;</description>

I just got really bloody minded and kept repeating the set up and suddenly it started responding properly when I told the remote to control a Sonos.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
