topic Switch on satellite signal in Sky Q

i've recently moved house and I have everything connected and wired, internet sorted, dish already installed and literally just need the satellite signal to be switched on. Do I need a sky engineer to physically come to my house to do that or can this be switched on remotely?

hi @Nickyvdw

Satellite TV does not need switching on like Broadband etc

If you have connected it and it is not working then it is quite possible that electronic bit on the dish (LNB) is not suitable for SKY Q & this would need to be changed by an engineer to one wo work with SKY Q

I guess it is also possible that the dish is not properly aligned which, again, would need an engineer to visit

If you don't have your own dish but a communal feed then it might be a couple of other things

BTW did you arrange the move through SKy - as they usually arrange an Engineer visit as part of that

Thank you for your response. makes sense.

I have an engineer booked for the end of july ( soonest I could get) but thought I may not need this and hope d it would be more of a plug and play situation.

Cleatly not and will therefore need to wait another 2 weeks!
