Stuck forwarding a programme

Hello,

whenever I try to forward a recording the bar at the bottom jumps backwards and forwards then when I try to press play it doesn't play. It will then forward through the whole programme, I can't back out to the menu and try restart it. Only way to stop it is by resetting the box. Even after restarting it, the issue still happens
