Alternative to Sky Q multi room boxes

Hi, as the title suggests, I'm looking to see if there is an alternative to the mini boxes, we have 3 multi room boxes in the house but they are interfering with the Sky Broadband. The Internet is constantly dropping and I have been told from the Sky broadband forum that the multi room boxes are most likely the cause. I have seen some smaller Sky pucks advertised, can they be used with Sky Q and do they work similarn to the multiroom boxes as in boosting signal and causing issues etc.

You can't add stream pucks to Sky Q, it's one or the other I'm afraid.

Based on your current setup you'd need 4 stream pucks. For HD you need at least 25mbps & UHD 35mbps per puck.

If you have poor wifi you need to ensure there is a adequate signal to every puck otherwise you'll encounter problems.

No, and no.

Stream pucks are simple WiFi client devices and have no hotspot or mesh functionality.

As @GD1 indicates, they cannot be in the same household as Q just because Sky doesn't permit that.

Thanks for the replies @GD1 & @TimmyBGood . The WiFi signal is good throughout the house, I have the router on a shelf on the stairs so it gives a good signal, that's tested with all the mini boxes unplugged. It looks as though the natural route would be to go with Sky Glass, do the pucks cost the same as the Sky Q multi room?

@Mikemurg Pucks are loaned to customers for the duration of subscription at a cost of £39.95 each maximum of 6 allowed

in addition you need the monthly whole home subscription equivalent of Q multi room at £12/13pm

Only if you're in the market for an overpriced TV.

You could do what I do and turn the wifi off on the Sky mini boxes and connect them with ethernet cables (and the main Sky box) up to wifi access points on your existing wifi network. That way the Sky boxes think they are on a hard-wired network and they work perfectly. I've been doing this for years without a hitch - and they don't interfere with my home wifi because they aren't outputting wifi.
