Mini box not working with remote behind tv

I have an older sky mini box,ive fitted it behind tv and the remote won't work unless I pull tv out.i believe its because the remote is ir and not Bluetooth, can I just buy a Bluetooth remote and will this work with this older box or do I need to get a new mini box from sky

Should work I think.One of my minis is behind a TV and I got Q very early on.

@TONYL1966 yes you can buy bluetooth remotes and they will work with your mini box or you could contact Sky and see if they will send you one. I still have the IR only remotes that used to come with mini boxes and the main boxes

Hi @TONYL1966 Just to clarify, voice control remotes (Bluetooth) will work with ALL boxes. I bought voice control remotes for my 2016 Mini boxes and they work fine.
