topic Renewal price in Sky Q

Just got off phone cancelling my sky tv after 24 years with sky. The renewal price was ridiculous and in the current climate would of thought a reduction may have been appropriate to stay with sky. Nevermind , quoted £81 per month taking off hd and ultra hd so an increase of £10 per month with less services. Over 18 months £1458 my gain or sky loss ? Sky could not care less about retaining its loyal customers shame but a reality. Would of stayed around the £60/£65 per month and would of kept a long standing customer relatively happy. Times are hard so cut backs have to happen I'm afraid, back to the aerial and smart tv I suppose. Thank you sky.

I have just got off phone from sky, my renewal is due in next 2 weeks they offered me after 24 years being with them for same package an increase of £45.50 per month ridiculous. So I've cancelled probably about time to be honest, loyalty means nothing like most large companies,on the plus side I'll be saving £2142 over the next 18 months, my gain or skys loss? I'm sure they won't be at all bothered.

(removed)

From recent posts on here it does seem that decent deals are increasingly hard to find. As you've chosen to leave the same will happen at the end of your discounted deal with whoever you go with as an alternative. Once you've been away for 18 months you'll be able to rejoin and benefit from new customer discounts.

We usually get substantial discounts, but not this time.

We did persist, we phoned Sky multiple times over the course of our final month or so and each time the deal got better - slightly.

We've everything (cinema, sport, uhd, multi-screen, netflix etc.) so wasn't expecting miracles. We've managed to renew at about £50 less per month than it was going to go up by, but that's still nearly £30 more than it was on the old deal.

Depending on what happens in 18 months time, we may also be leaving Sky after 20 odd years. Sky Q will really be on it's last legs by then anyway I guess.

The best idea is still to cancel. Then you'll get offered 'come back' deals.

I left Sky Stream 6 months ago and this week was offered 12 months half price, so £15.50pm for Entertainment & Netflix (Standard with ads) on 31 day rolling contract.

Someone on another forum contacted Sky a few days after their Stream service ended and was offered an 18 month contract for even less.

Deals are available, for Stream at least, so perhaps it's part of the master plan to get people out of new lengthy Q contracts...

I got screwed over 18 months ago like that after 24 years. Bye bye this time. New customer deals massively lower.
