Free upgrade to Sky Q

I have been told that with the introduction of Sky Sports Plus I can upgrade to Sky Q from Sky Plus for free, but only option on website is with multi-room and I am in one bedroom flat with one tv so don't need or want multi-room option

Quite often the 'free' upgrades are indeed reliant on taking out other options etc.

You will need to call to discuss any alternatives.

Yes, that is the prescribed route for a free upgrade. Give Sky a call as @nigea99 suggested, and see what they can offer you as an alternative.
