Sky have strict polices on where they can and can't install a dish so if they will not install it into a thicker wall the you will have to engage a local company to do this for you.

You have posted on the Sky+ board. Sky no longer support Sky+ and Sky+HD including dish issues so won't send an engineer anyway. So do you have Sky Q?

An installer has to assess the situation they find: one factor is where they suspect there's external cladding which isn't capable of load-bearing. They also only have a drill bit of a finite length for creating the cable entry hole.

Where they can't carry out an installation of sufficient quality, they are obliged to refuse.
