TV getting muted

Recently had Sky Q installed and the remote was paired with the TV (e.g. holding the power switches both the tv and Q box off), however there is a button or combination of buttons on the remote that is muting the tv - it's not the actual mute button, cause pushing that on & off doesn't rectify the issue. The only solve is switching off and on both the tv and Q box via holding the power button.

Any ideas please?

It's not likely to be the Q remote if it has Voice control. That's because when paired to the Qbox it uses Blutooth.

Your TV control needs infrared. Only the following buttons on the remote use infrared.

Standby button
Volume up/down
Mute
Input Select (changes TV HDMI inputs)

Have you checked to see if the volume down button the remote is not sticking? If it is it will reduce the TV Volume to Zero

Given it's a new remote, it shoudn't be sticking, but i'll have a look - thanks.
