You can watch Sky content on two minis and the main box at the same time. You may be able to use a third mini box if the first one in use is being used for a streaming app ie: Netflix or DIsney+.

Be aware the original 1TB (non-UHD) Sky Q box only allows one mini to be in use. All 2TBs and the UHD/HDR 1TB permit two mini boxes. Each mini box which is loaned to you may be subject to a one off upfront charge but you only need one Sky Q monthly Multiscreen subscription.

I currently have sky hd connected via coax/magic eyes to other rooms in the house. If I go for sky q how can I replicate this? Àssume there is nothing on the market to 'create' an rf output? Seems a very strange 'upgrade' if you lose this functionality! I also have a multi room box so how would this work?

I believe there are HDMI to RF adapters but no idea how they work - you may also need an HDMI splitter - I beleive these can be a bit hit & mss with SKY Q that is rather fussy in ensuring HDCP complaince etc.

Regarding the multiroom - the mini boxes provide this but in a different way - see these notes

I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q

I used an Edision modulator very satisfactorily.

Sky Q boxes don't have RF outputs so a Magic eye couldn't work, Sky+HD is an ancient unsupported system, if you want to watch TV in another room with Sky Q you need a Q mini box and multiroom sub.

There are potential workarounds using an HDMI splitter and either long HDMI cable (for HD, but not UHD) or other cabling systems. The current Q remote is Bluetooth and so doesn't necessarily need line of sight.
