New build wanting sky but told may not be able to have dish installed

Wanting to get sky Q but I'm in a new build, loft isn't boarded out. Been told may not be able to have it fitted as loft isn't boarded out but neighbours 2 doors down have it, anyone know if this is true? Or in a new build with no boarded loft that has sky Q? Thanks!

The loft does not come into it. Sky engineers won't go into a loft but there should be no need for them to do so.

Some developers don't allow dishes at all which doesn't seem to apply as you say other properties already have a dish.

The issue with lofts tends to come up where the developers have 'helpfully' installed ducting / cabling which ends up there, but a Sky installer isn't permitted by their own safe working rulebook to reach this.

Coax can be left rolled up in the loft coming from tv aerial points in the house as often a loft tv aerial is seen by some builders an as "optional extra". Sky wont use this anyway.

@Els25 If your newbuild has already had a wall mounted media plate installed in the room where you would like a Sky Q receiver to be installed, and the coaxial cables feeding that media plate presently just terminate in your unboarded loft.

Then, there is nothing to stop you employing a suitably qualified local satellite specialist to fit a suitable satellite dish, with a 'Wideband' LNB, and check if you require the media plate to be altered in order to allow the full bandwidth of 'Wideband' LNB satellite transponder signals to pass through it correctly.
