Red button doesn't work on S4C to get English commentary on sports - despite the program specifically saying "press red button for English commentary"

I reported this last year and got palmed off

I don't know about the red button but when there is English Commentary on S4C you should be able to get it by having done this:

Go to

Home -Setup - Settings - Preferences

Scroll down to language & select Welsh

Yes I did say Welsh (to get the English Commentary! - no idea why it works counter intuitively)

@nigea99 thanks for posting this - recently watched the Wales play-off games on S4C in Welsh - thought you used to be able to get English commentary via red button but it wouldn't work.

Need to keep note of this for future reference,.

@Raider999 once set you should get the English Commentary (or on any similar dual language show) when available without making additional changes

hi @Raider999

I will be honest & say I don't know.

My guess is that it will work with a recording from the live channel as I think it is likely to record both audio channels - the setting should work when there are multiple audio channels

I also suspect that if there are downloads available these may only have a single audio channel

Great thanks for the info x that worked and can now listen to the match in English
