Sky Q Remote Volume buttons not working in IR mode

Hi - our Sky Q remote volume up/down buttons and mute do not work in IR mode. The remote is sending a red light signal to the box but it's not doing anything.

(For background my son uses a speech device to control our Sky Q box and we have put the remote control into IR mode to "teach" his device the button commands. It works great for all buttons except the volume up, volume down and mute button)

Any ideas? We have tried several different Sky remotes and several different sky boxes, but the same problem.

How are you setting it to IR mode ?

Pressing & Holding the 7 & 9 until the remote's light (red LED above the SKY logo button) flashes 4 times completely resets the remote & will loose any codes for your TV until paired

If you have fully paired it with your box & TV you then should use 4 & 6 together to reset to IR mode & retain the TV codes

BTW @Pid3568 If you are just setting to IR mode to allow the other remote to learn codes you might find it eaiser to use theTVs own remote for any TV codes

@nigea99 yes I was using the codes you mentioned to switch between IR and Bluetooth - it works perfectly for most of the buttons - just not the volume ones!

HOWEVER - great solution to just use the volume controls on the tv remote! An obvious work around I hadn't considered!! Thank you 🙏
