Why is that when I turn my TV off the box goes into stand by mode (orange light) but then if I turn the box back on (green light) my TV comes on without me turning it on.

hi @JACKIE74

There is a thing called HDMI control, so that when you trun on the box, it sends a signal via the HDMI cable to wake up the TV. (This feature needs to have settings on on both the SKY Q box & the TV)

A short press on the SKY Q box to turn it off does not send this signal to turn the TV off - however with the latest SOftware release Q250 a 'long press' to turn the TV off will also turn off the SKY Q box
