Watching FP3 on Sky F1 UHD and the sound is awful compared to SkySpME UHD.

The audio on sky sports f1 sounds terrible. It's only coming through as 2 channel stereo and sounds very compressed. Main event does not have this issue, this is working correctly, Dolby digital + 5.1. Is this a known issue? And if so is there a fix date.

Yes. Theres no Dolby digital on the f1UHD channel currently , its pcm.
Main event UHD has DD though. Since its all being simulcast on main event its not an issue today really

Thats true. Why doesnt sky go app allow remote recording on UHD channels yet would be the question

Football is on main event tomorrow so it will be an issue. It was the same yesterday, I was hoping it would be fixed for today. I wonder if Sky even knows.

Could be an issue if you only subscribe to F1 only @blade+the

Seeing as Sky Sports Main Event is only available with Sky Sports Complete Pack.

@SJ16 correct football is on Main Event but the Bahrain F1 GP doesn't start until 2:55pm

But hopefully the sound issue should be sorted by then on F1 UHD.

I only have the F1 channel and the UHD version is really quiet compared to the HD channel 😞

Same for me. Outputting at Stereo PCM on my Sonos soundbar while I was watching the F2 race just now..However, I have noticed it's working in Dolby Digital Plus on the Main Event channel (401) though, which is also in UHD luckily enough.

True, the main race is in between football but I usually watch the build up before the main race, hopefully they can sort it. Plus my recordings are all set for f1 uhd, having to record main event as a backup is a bit annoying.

Have you tried the ME UHD channel ?

I am not sure but I think when a sport is simulcast then I think there is a chance that a viewer who only has a single sport Subscription may be able to access the ME channel whilst it is simulcast

Confirmed here that F1 UHD is only Stereo PCM not 5.1

However, I changed the settings on the SkyQ box to 1080p and once I flipped up and down a channel it switched to 5.1, but only 1080p. But, I then changed the video signal back to 4k and it kept the 5.1 audio and gave me the 4k feed. Just don't change the channel afterwards as it'll go back to stereo.

Strange as it all worked fine last year.

Yes it appears so.

The level was very low so I guess it might have been a shock for anyone still watching it
