Match Choice Red Button not working?

I'm trying to watch a football match via Sky Sports Football by pressing the red button for match choice.

When I press it, it takes me to the menu but then suggests there is a technical issue and to try again later. After a while of trying, the troubleshooting guide suggests to reboot the box by unplugging etc and waiting to switch back on etc.

Now, the match choice red button option isn't even available at all anymore, it doesn't prompt me on screen and nothing happens when I press the button.

I'm fuming to say the least as my football team kicked off over 15 minutes ago and I'm missing it.

I pay for this service as a legitimate customer, why is SKy making it so difficult for genuine customers?1

Hi @TomWilsWilliam

See if your match is shown in the Sports tab - Football in the Home menu .

Best to select it there if it is

I am getting an error message when I try to use the Red button on my Sky Q system. Just upgraded but yet to succesfully see a red Button football match. Tried to use both Sky Go and Sky Sports on my Mac but no sign of any red button. Its very frustrating and the match is now finished.

OMG. I have been struggling to access the red button to watch EFL games and Sky (Bulgaria) could not help, twice, and actually didn't even understand what the red button was!!

the answer above, using the Home Screen, then foot ball, worked.
Sky now tell me the 'Red button' no longer works on most Sky Q boxes and this is how you now access red button facilities!!

Thanks for letting me know Sky!!! You really know how to look after your customers - NOT!!

Thank you! I was just about to throw my remote through the tv screen, an expensive action! It is not straightforward even knowing this though - I am now getting code: DV1 - still a technical issue - **bleep** Sky? This is an extremely expensive premium service and needs sorting now!

Also, you have to select "Sport" then "Football" which is not so obvious...

So now I have finally got West Brom V Cardiff on screen - and the sound is appalling. Is it that difficult for someone to monitor and see that someone has got your microphone s next to the PA system so we can't hear the comme tatie over rather crowd or the PA announcements

It's so frustrating I had the same problem last night and have since tried the red button again today on the match choice for the Tennis. Rebooted the Sky Q box etc.. but still no success! I

Issue still occurring. Trying to choose match, error code WGT8, Try later. Technical issues.

So frustrating. Sort it out sky !

I recorded the Swansea v Leeds match yesterday (sky sports action).

Watched it, all good until early in the second half when the picture started breaking up - this continued for the rest of the game.

After about 20 minutes of this they started apologising for the poor picture quality - nomide why they couldn't fix it. Then with about 10 minutes left they said the remainder of the game would be on Sky Sports Arena.

The picture on Arena was fine, checked later and the pictur on Action was as it had been.

From this I deduce it was a problem with the Action channel rather than the match coverage itself.

This isn't good enough, especially considering the vast sums we pay for the service.

Try pressing the Home button on the remote - Scroll to sport - then scroll down to Football - then go across to the matches that are highlighted - then press select, see if that works!?

It works on Sky Plus, as long as you have the box connected to the Internet (for some reason). But it works
