For her birthday last August I bought my wife a Sony Bravia XR to replace an LG model which was several years old. She watches it through a Sky mini-box in 'her' room, recording most programmes for viewing later at her convenience.

I have on older Sony TV in 'my' room which I watch through a Sky Q box.

The two TVs are connected via the Sky Multiroom facility.

However, since, and only since, my wife has had the new TV the lip-syncing, which was marginally out at the beginning, has now become so bad some recordings have become unwatchable. It is an intermittent problem but is becoming more frequent.

We called out a TV engineer who confirmed there are no problems with the tv but advised that the problem is with our Sky set-up.

He suggested swapping over the TVs which we are loathe to do as the new TV was a present for my wife in 'her' room.

Any help or suggestions as to how we might solve this issue will be very welcome. Thank you.

As you have Sky Q I'll move your post to the Sky Q forum. Sky+ (where you've posted) has a different arrangement for Multiscreen.

Hi Lang1

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to reply to my query. Unfortunately your suggestion is something we've tried a couple of times but to no effect.

Speaking last night to a guy who is a technical whizz he said the issue is almost certainly the minibox which is connected to the new 4k TV. Almost certainly that can't always cope with the signal coming from the Sky Q box particularly if it's a high tech programme.

That's the problem - but what's the solution?

Thanks again.

Hi P andJ 2020

Thank you for your reply.

I confess to being an aged technophobe who relies entirely on my eldest son for anything related to technology. He will be here during the week when I will ask him to answer the questions you raised.

The one question I can answer now is that the HDMI lead is the one provided by Sky when the system was set up.

I'll get back to you on the other matters when I've seen my son.

Thanks again.
