Sky Q remote no longer controlling volume and strange menu appeared

My remote has suddenly stopped controlling the volume and TV input button. It has worked for 5 years and now suddenly stopped. Also this menu has appeared on my that I cannot access but will not go away - looks like the TV controls that my remote is no longer controlling??!! Anyone else seen this or know what to do?

Hi @SarahEd

You will need your TV remote to clear any TV onscreen message..

Regarding your Q box

Try completly resetting your Bluetooth remote.
Press and hold 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then make sure that you are pointing your remote at the Q box and press 1 & 3 together until the remote led flashes and follow onscreen instructions to re- pair.

hi @SarahEd

Possibly your TV has had a software update.

Can I suggest you try a power down (i.e. switch off at mains / unplug) restart of you TV.

If the menu still remains you probably need to use your TV's own remote

After that if your SKY remote still doesn't control the volume then:

May I suggest you try a reset of your remote:

Press & Hold the 7 & 9 until the remote's light (red LED above the SKY logo button) flashes 4 times

Then press 1 & 3 together to go through to re-pair with the box and your TV - make sure it has line of sight of the box as until it is paired it uses Infrared

I have the same problem. I have recently bought a new Samsung TV and after I set it up I noticed that my Sky Q remote was not working correctly intermittently. The volume and the power were not working. You get 2 remotes with the Samsung smart TV, one is a solar-powered one and the other is a normal remote but both do the same job. Now here is the problem, when the Sky Q remote stops working so does the the normal Samsung remote also stops working but the solar works ok. I have tried everything, I have reset the remotes, Sky Q box, and Factory reset TV. When the fault is on I just leave the Sky Q remote and the Normal Samsung remote on the side and then try later and they start to work. Before all this started I had another Samsung smart TV and did not have any problems. I hope i have explained this ok.
