topic Why does my TV switch off partway through a programme? in Sky Q

Hello! My TV automatically switches off midway through a programme on a regular basis. It happened with our old TV and the same thing is happening with our new one. It's particularly bad with Apple TV, Netflix and Amazon, but not sure if that's related? Any ideas what it could be?

Hi @Amy+L+S

Most TVs have an automatic power off when they think they are not being used.

When we use SKY Q for everything except volume changes the TVs think they are not in use as we are interacting with the SKY Q box rather than the TV

My TV comes up with a prompt with 3 minutes before it shutsdown - a quick up/down of the volume buttons stops it powering off.

You could look in your TV settings to see if you can switch it off or extend it - although I am not sure all TVs will have such options
