Community Fibre wifi

WiFi connection is cutting out at least 5-6 times a day on my Sky Q box since installing community fibre.

Ang recommendations aside from direct Ethernet cabling....?

This issue is insane. Sky even sent me a new box but same issue persists.

It maybe a weak Wi-Fi signal the WiFi signal sucks are the sky Q Boxes far from the router.If they are community fibre.do a WiFi booster for £9.99p per month.

Community Fibre has worked brilliantly for me both on Q and Sky Stream & I've had no problems with signal strength or the network cutting out. Which level of service are you on and which router do you have? Is it the Linksys Velop?

Rather than pay them an extra £9.99pm for additional mesh WiFi nodes, you could do what I did and buy another one from eBay (I got one for less than £30) and add it to your WiFi network yourself. It's really easy to do with the Linksys app.

Yeah it's a Mesh... No signal issues at all in the house or on other devices. Sky checked teh software and it's all fine.

From what I hear is the fact that the Q box isn't compatible with the Mesh Router. So either change the router.. or ethernet it direct to the box (erm, old school and no!); that's the general gist.

Have been chatting to Community Fibre and they're looking into it too. From what I've "heard" the router is too smart/strong and the Q box needs a constant steady signal.

Could be possible. Q is pretty old technology now.

I had my old Q box connected via ethernet along with all my other streaming devices. I had a flat ethernet cable hidden behind the skirting boards which runs from behind the TV round the front room to the router at the other end of the house. I installed a cheap 5 port gigabit ethernet switch behind the TV so that I could connect everything to it. Works a treat.

Oooh never heard of a FLAT Ethernet cable... could look that up... but the route to the living room from the hall is a tad tricky. Still, I'll look... thanks!

They're great, and much easier to hide. I have one of these upstairs from my node to my PC.

I have exactly the same issue. Have contacted Community Fibre many times but still no resolution to this issue despite this being a known issue for them.

not sure if hardwiring the Sky Q box will resolve this?

My Community Fibre broadband device is in my hallway, my Sky Q box is in my living room (about 10 feet away from my Sky Q box). I don't want to drill holes in my walls to install this cable.

Would it make a difference to my ongoing Sky Q box issues even if I didn't drill any holes into my walls?

I am not very tech savvy.

Your Sky Q box should have no trouble connecting to your Community Fibre router via WiFi if it's only 10 feet away.

You'd just need to reset the network settings on your Q box so that it can 'see' the router.

I had the same problem the sky engineer connected by Sky Q box to a Sky booster and connected the booster by ethenet cable into my community fibre router, so now my Q box connects to a Sky WiFi but gets its signal from the community fibre router.....this seems to have worked
