      <description>&lt;P&gt;There are a lot of fake QR scanner apps which direct the user to something else rather than the intended service. If there is a web address or any other options on screen I would try that rather than the QR code.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;As &lt;a href="https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/3937167"&gt;@Jones_The_Cat&lt;/a&gt; indicates, it's the QR app carrying out that redirect rather than anything to do with Sky.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I saw the QR app my wife had downloaded on her phone do the same thing last week (though to a different subscription service) when she was trying to use an 'order and pay at table' facility in a restaurant.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Unfortunately even previously legitimate apps can start doing this if they change ownership.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
