I have sky q and want a mini box but didn't get one when I got sky q. Now on my app to add mini box they want £50 set up fee. I thought you get a mini box free with the sky q. Why should I pay £50

You've answered your own question. It's an admin/ set up payment.

That's just a rip off. Once that fee is paid is that it. You don't pay anything else monthly to use it or do you

That's all you need then. Hopefully you're aware the mini box is loaned to you like the main box. If and when you cancel Multiscreen or Sky Q as a whole you don't get that set up fee refunded.
