Pairing Sky Q remote with TCL Fire TV

Hi all, first time poster. I'm trying to pair my Sky Q remote with my new TCL Fire TV (model 40SF540K) without success. I've tried the suggested 4-digit codes for TCL (2703 & 3075), but they don’t work. I also tried all 25 JVC codes after reading another post. Have tried both my voice and non-voice remotes, both paired fine with my Samsung TVs. Can someone pls help? Thanks!

@RayV is this a bluetooth remote ie one with a voice button on it ?

Hi @Laing1 thanks for replying. Primarily it's the standard (non-voice) Sky Q remote, which came with my mini box, that I wanted to pair. I tried multiple 4-digit codes but none worked. I then also tried the Sky Q voice remote from my other TV, but again no luck. Both remotes paried fine with other TVs.

I'm also sure the TV itself is not Bluetooth-only in terms of receiving, as it has IR on the remote and TV set, and also didn't swith off when the sensor was covered.

Appreciate any suggestions you can provide. Thanks.

@RayV you could try vestel codes I recently bought a Toshiba fire TV for a bedroom and was able to pair the bluetooth remote to that using the Toshiba codes so may give them a try as well

@RayV did you try the Toshiba codes ?

Hi @Laing1 sorry late reply. Yes, tried the Vestel and all the Toshiba codes, but no luck.

Also messaged TCL directly last week; no repsonse as yet.

Hi had the exact same problem and found the solution by looking at a number of sites, go to the set up remote control menu, enter the brand JVC, then press find it for me, will give 1-27 settings, try each one, mine worked on option 17. Hope this works for you 🙏

Tried using setting for JVC took it slowly as seems to take a little longer to respond to volume, but worked on setting 18

Hi Ron, Yes i used the JVC codes to pair my TCL to the sky remote, when pairing take a few seconds on each code using the volume buttons, mine worked on code 17 and another post said there's worked on code 18. Good luck!!!

I've just bought a Amazon fire tv . And the engineer tuned the sound volume to TCL works fine on sky Q remote and sound bar remote.

Toshiba 9 worked ok but seemed to interfere with my daughters infrared lights in her room. Toshiba 10 also worked without the interference. Model was TCL 32SF540K

I had this same issue and just solved it using Toshiba setting i think option 9 on the remote discovery but try a few either side of that.

Hope you crack it. It took me a while.

Hi peeps

ive been trawling the net to try and link my sky remote to the tcl 32SF540k. I've been going round it circles I've tried TCK/toshiba/jvc but still can't get it to work with my tv? Any ideas?

I would retry all Toshiba ones personally and test thoroughly. It want thru most brands over a few hours before landing on Toshiba
