Hi,

I've seen posts like this but I didn't find a decent solution.

i recently installed a TP Link Deco mesh using PX50 Deco units

my sky q box now has a nasty habit of losing connection to wifi when it has been on for a while. The solution is to reset the sky q network settings and re-enter the deco wifi password. It will then work again for a while but within 24hrs, I'm doing it all again!

in the deco app, I've turned of Mesh for the sky Q box, set it to only use the nearest Deco (which is also the main deco in the mesh) and it still keeps happening!

in the deco app, the sky q box sometimes moves to the "offline clients" list and it appears that it has trouble reconnecting after this has happened.

is there another setting somewhere?

its very frustrating!

I previously used BT Whole Home mesh discs and it was fine. It's just the Deco mesh I'm now having trouble with

I'm with BT. I've ditched the whole home extenders as after a we built. little kitchen extension we can no longer get tye

signal to the other side of the house. with the PX50 deco units, it's no problem as they can also use powerline to connect to each other.

ive not tried hard wiring as the nearest Deco is in the hallway adjacent to the living room. A cable isn't really practical.

Of all my WiFi devices, the Sky Q is the only one causing problems. The

Also, I have had a fair few occasions where the sky q box shows the message "it looks like you have internet connection problems blah blah" on all the main menu screens but when I check the network settings, I see 4 ticks!

Yep. All the same for me although the BT discs work throughout my house so I haven't had to upgrade. And I've changed ISP from BT to Box fttp. Makes no difference of course. I moved one disc to put it close enough to the Q for discreet ethernet.

Having seen this so many times and never seen a decent answer other than "use an Ethernet cable", it suggests to me that the sky q box is the only common factor.

Is it time for a firmware update for sky q????

Oh the Q wifi stack is absolutely the problem.

If they haven't fixed it in 7 years I wouldn't hold your breath. I suspect it's a problem buried deep in some 3rd party component. I know they were using Airties for their mesh tech.

I'd be happy if they just fixed the grammar in the error message but fortunately the only place I've seen it in the last 2 years is on this forum since I rejigged my network.
