Sky remote isn’t working

My remote has stopped working. You sent me a new one, it says to hold buttons 1&3 and follow instructions on screen but nothing comes on the screen. The red light on the remote flash's but nothing happens. Can you help please? I've tried ringing but struggling to speak to someone.

Try resetting your remote.
Press the buttons 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes twice then follow onscreen instructions to repair the remote.

Hi @MartynHolme1

The Q box needs to be on with green led when you try to pair .

First reboot your Q box .

To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

Then try completly resetting your Bluetooth remote.
Press and hold 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then make sure that you are pointing your remote at the Q box and press 1 & 3 together until the remote led flashes and follow onscreen instructions to re- pair.

My sky q remote stopped working this morning, following the instrutcions on your site about ptessing digits 7 + 9 3 or 4 times, then 1+3 it still did not work, so i unplugged the sky q box, reset all the settings and tried the remote again and it worked, so there is another way to reset the remote.

Can anybody help?,

My remote for the sky q box has stopped working, it has new batteries.

I have tried the holding 7 & 9 and holding 1 & 3, that made no difference.

I have also tried restarting the box but it still doesn't work.

any ideas?

Try unplugging it, then restarting the box, then do what you've already done with the buttons, that's what i did and the remote started after, that's all i can suggest, Noel

In the short term press and hold 4 + 6 to turn it into an IR only remote so you can Atleast control the box.

Thank you for this information. I have been struggling with the remote not pairing to the TV and had tried pressing 7/9 and 1/3, turning the TV, sky box etc on and off several times.

When I pressed 4 and 6 together, the remote started working and I could access the sky controls. Then pressing 7/9 and then 1/3 reset everything.

Press 1 snd 7 together until remote control red LED flashes then press 1 and 3 together until red LED flashes and follow on screen instructions.

Tried all these options but none worked and this is a new box and remote very annoying

I've put new batteries in prest 7-9 together iam not getting no response on the tv remote nothing not working it's not the first time this as happened

How did you link the remote back up? This is so annoying!! I don't see any led lights and I've tried the 7 and 9 and then the 1 and 3, and the 4 and 6 and reset 😔

The Q box has no concept of volume.

You remote needs to be correctly setup for the appropriate TV. https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-q-remote-help
