No. you don't even need it if you do have a UHD TV.

As the others have said the Ultra HD add on is of no benefit for watching TV if you don't have a UHD TV

If, however, you get Netflix via SKY and want to watch on more than 2 devices at the same time then the Ultra HD add on opens that up - up to 4 devices (with the HD add on you can watch on 2 devices at the same time)
