BBC Upgrade Mesaage

I have a Sky Q 1TB box. On 101 I see the message about needing to upgrade. I have HD so why do I see the message? And how to get rid of the message? It is very annoying!!

hi @Hedwig13 Is it definitely on the live channel on 101 or is it just some recordings ?

What is listed on channel 801 ?

Which BBC region are you in ?

The HD version should be on 101 and SD on 801.

If 101 just says "BBC One" and 801 says "BBC One [reg] HD" [reg = regional name like London, SWest etc] then something isn't right.

It should be on 101

May I suggest you try a restart your main SKY Q box :

Use the remote to place it into standby mode
Then remove the power to it (either switch off at mains or remove the power plug)
Wait at least 30s
Then re-apply the power & wait for it to fully restart - this may take a few minutes.

Once the main box is restarted do the same power down on each of your mini boxes if needed.

The picture on the SD version is apalling. That's clue 1.

The SD version has the banner and the HD version doesn't

The title of the HD channel on the TV Guide has HD in it. i.e. 801 in your case. That should be on 101 now.

If you are setting recordings remotely, the Sky apps have a bad habit of inadvertently selecting the SD version of the channel, and those will carry the upgrade message.

Thank you very much everyone. The good old trick of turning off, count to ten and turn back on again did the job! 101 is now showing as my HD channel and no text is coming up.

See if you can download the film from iPlayer. In future make sure you record the HD channel to avoid the message.
