You have to hold the power button for about 2-3 seconds.

If that's not working then the remote isn't coded correctly.

As mentioned above, hold down the Sky Q power button for 2-3 seconds.

If it worked before, you may need to reapir your remote again as described in this help article;

I have same issue. Remote was ok for about 2 weeks after switch to Sky Q by Sky technician. Then after switching off by holding button down it goes off but after a few seconds restarts.

I have found that be keeping off button pressed for about 5 seconds it does the trick
