Red banner when recording BBC

I have a Sky Q box , my BBC Channel is in Hd but when I record I get a red banner on playback covering half the screen. Do I need an upgrade or can you no longer record BBC channels on sky anymore?

Are you recording the BBC channels in HD, are you setting the recordings via your box itself or via the Sky+ or Sky Go apps as these default to the SD versions.

It will be the red banner regarding the BBC SD closure. Make sure you're watching/recording the HD versions to avoid it.

hi @MattAnnoyed

As @caesarome has suggested, I suspect that you have set the recordings via the SKY Go app which defaults to SD.

Personally I think it is overkill that the BBC have decided to place banner throughout the broadcasts/recordings in SD rather than for a brief period every now and again but I guess it is easier for them.

I guess it does make sure that anyone who relies on the SD Satellite channel does something before they switch the SD feeds off early next year
