Sky Q viewing card not registering

Got a new sky q box after giving up woth glass. Not happy with the service constantly dropping off and having to reset the tv. Got the sky q box delivered but no viewing card. 40 mins on hold to sky to find out the viewing card wasn't ordered. So that brings us to now, finally got a viewing card but it won't register. Any help would be appreciated

Hi @AndyMason87

First check that your viewing card is correctly inserted. Viewing card is in the right hand end of the box.
If it is in correctly there is not enough of it sticking out to grip and remove it.

Push it fully in and it will pop out slightly enough so you can remove it.

Make sure that it is in chip side up and chip end in first. Push it gently fully in and you should feel a slight click when it is engaged. If it has popped out enough to remove it is not located correctly.

If you are satisfied that it is in correctly

Try refreshing your Viewing card.
Home - Settings - System info.
Highlight Viewing card number and then select Setup on the right hand side.
Then select Use this option to trigger a callback

No call is actually made but the Viewing card should be refreshed.

Yeah tried that, I'm trying a network cable instead of WiFi next

A new Sky Q box setup, do this;

Re-pair Sky Q viewing card

Insert your card into your Sky Q box with the gold chip facing up.
Press Home on your Sky Q remote, select Settings, then System Info.
Select Viewing Card Number, then Setup.

You'll see a "Pairing viewing card" message, then a "Viewing card paired" message when it's done.

It usually takes a few minutes to activate a card, but it can take up to four hours. Keep Sky Q turned on until it's complete.

When channel 106 starts working, you card's been activated.
