2nd mini box not connecting

Hi all,

I have sky q with multi screen. Recently I have added a second mini box and here is where my troubles started.

The new mini box appears to keep crashing the main box by taking out the internet connectivity. I know this as when unplugged the main box and mini box 1 work fine.

I have a strong fast internet connection across the property so that's ruled out.

i have updated the boxes although mini box 2 only went to q220.000.23.00L wheresas the others are q230.000, again do think this is the issue.

The mini box 2 is far from the main box so I'm not sure if that's the issue, the tv is a smart tv and streaming movies on Netflix is fine hence I know it's not the internet. I guess it means how do I improve the signal from main to box 2 and why would this cause the main box to crash anyway.

completely lost now so any help massively appreciated.

Hi @Tommo77

Your issue is certainly not helped by the second mini being on a different software version,

Unfortunately Q230.... is only currently being rolled out and the Update cannot be forced until it is released to the DR stream for general release.

Try swapping the two minis round to see if this changes your issue.

Hi thanks for the reply, I have literally done the update on all tonight, I had to move mini2 to mini1 position to do this which is frustrating why mini2 didn't go to same version.

Also have just now move box2 to box 1 position leaving box 1 unplugged. Back on with connection, the first issue is adding a 2nd box ie others should still work!

I feel the issue is the distance from main to box 2 but I am probably way off.

Just checking.

Assume your main Q box is not the original 1 TB version (32Cxx).

This box only allows one mini in use at a time

I think it's 2TB, version is 32B059.
