Sky Q installation query.

Good evening,

after 9 years with sky+ I'm concerning upgrading to sky q.

However I do have a query.

My sky+ box is located on the second floor of my house due to the dish not been able to be installed via the loft. This box isn't plugged into a tv and I get its signal via wireless audio and visual receiver box's.

if I upgrade to sky q can the main sky q remain on the second floor not plugged into a tv and I upgrade to sky multil screen with the signal sent via sky q mini box's to the loft tv and down stairs tv.

or does the main sky q box have to be plugged into a tv at all times.

No, a TV doesn't have to be plugged in and you can watch via mini's only.

Only constraints is that mini's do not support UHD if that's relevant to you.

Ah superb so I'm guessing for installation the engineer will do it all via the mini's.

They would probably prefer a TV connected to the main unit during setup (as satellite feeds come here) - but there are other ways.

What was the issue with the loft? Can they not just run longer cables to the ground floor?
