I have 4 mini boxes that used to work but now you can only use 2, once 2 are in use it comes up with maximum number of mini boxes already in use

Two in use has always been the limit (apart from a workaround with the Netflix app)

All 4 would not have worked together. You can have a maximum of 4 mini boxes loaned to you by Sky. You can watch Sky content on two minis and the main box at the same time. You may be able to use a 3rd mini box at the same time if you’re using it for one of the apps such as Netflix.

The original 1TB (non-UHD) Sky Q box only allows one mini to be in use. To check if you have the non UHD 1TB box check in:-
Home - Settings - System Info - Hardware Version
If it shows as 32Cxxx then you have a non UHD 1TB that only supports 1 active mini box.

All 2TBs and the UHD/HDR 1TB permit two mini boxes. Each mini box which is loaned to you may be subject to a one off upfront charge but you only need one Sky Q monthly Multiscreen subscription.

You would need to research Stream in detail and make that decision. It's a totally different way of viewing and doesn't appeal to many customers.

Wow.

Sky would let you have up to six Stream pucks and three Glass television sets at the address.

For that amount of streaming hardware to be viable you'd need really good internet (500Mbs or Gigabit FTTP or the equivalent from Virgin) plus (probably) a better-than-ISP-grade router/WiFi solution.

Sorry, one more question as so confused and getting no where on the phone with sky (1HOUR 30 MINS, then she hangs up!) can all these be watched at the same time?? Or only a certain amount?.

All at the same time, internet bandwidth and router capacity permitting: Sky now recommends a minimum 25Mbs for HD which is why Superfast or Ultrafast 1 broadband isn't going to cut it.
