Hi all , just got sky Q installed today , just wanted to ask , should the red led light up when I input channel numbers like on my old sky+HD remote ?

Also the design of this remote is shocking, try inputting 409 with one hand ! Nearly dropping the thing lol !

Also had to reboot the box earlier because the remote wouldn't go to home or anything so I'll see how that goes too , thanks

Hi @edgie700 The remote led should light up when you press the ? key. It should also flash to confirm a long press of the power button to turn off the TV signal sent.

hi @edgie700

No the red LED does not flash when pressing normal keys on the SKY Q remote - it only does with the ? key (or during reset procedures requiring miltiple keys)

BTW we know others switching find the remote not as easy

Thank you for your replies , I've also been looking for the " smart standby mode " so I can long press and it turns off the TV and box together, I've found it on the sky website but there isn't anything under settings in my box

Hi @edgie700 To turn your SKY box off press the power button on your remote once, then turn your TV off by pressing the power button and holding for two to three seconds?

I know SKY have been working on a change to allow this to happen for powering off but I am not too sure that it has been implemented yet or not - I have asked if it is now the case with the latest software release or whether the change is still pending
