Have done the network reset and even set the dns IP address to 8.8.8.8, even found that the box keeps dropping its IP address so stamped it down and set the router to always give it the same ip, that worked well for a while but recently it has just been a joke.

the box is about 6 years old now so wondering if there has been changes regarding memory and processing power.

We have an old skyQ box and it is getting to the point that we are unable to watch any streaming service and we have tried refreshing the apps, resetting the box and it is plugged in via a cable to the router, router speed is in the 300 plus down and 500 plus up so it is not an internet connection issue

Have you tried a Network reset on the Q box.

Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect wired to your router.
