LG TV turns off when streaming

When streaming Disney+, Netflix through the sky Q box my television turns off randomly. I've literally just put the little mermaid on and it turned the TV off.
I've been watching the tv all evening and nothing happened.

I'm now watching without the sky q box streaming through the app on my LG tv and it's fine.

its the most annoying and frustrating thing I've come across.

Hi @Mhewitt

See if a reboot of the TV helps.

Instead of unplugging your TV just to restart it, all you have to do is press and hold the volume down and power keys simultaneously until the device reboots. This will take about 11-12 seconds. Then release the keys when you see the LG bootup logo.

You're probably better off using the apps on your LG TV anyway. They'll be more optimised and will offer better HDR options if your TV supports it (Dolby Vision for example). The apps on the Q box are slow and limited in many respects.

Have you checked the power settings on your LG TV?

Mine updated recently to include defaulting to more aggressive power saving when you leave it on and don't touch it. If you watch via Sky Q and don't touch the volume on the TV, this might be kicking in?

Hi @Mhewitt You should note that the Sky Q box only has the HDMI control function to turn on a TV. It has no means of turning a TV off.
