What kind of message are you getting, when trying to play them?

Also, if the recordings on your main box are recorded in uhd, they will not play on your mini, as the mini can only play hd/sd recordings.

@GRANTORINO-1 are you trying to watch somewthing that was recorded in UHD on the main box as if so the mini boxes cannot play UHD recordings.

As indicated above, a Mini box outputs HD at most, and a main Q box cannot take a UHD recording and reduce it to HD to pass to a Mini for playback as that would require rather more processing power than its CPU possesses. Given Sky Sports F1 is one of the few channels broadcast in UHD, that's the most likely explanation: for Mini box playback you'd want to be recording the HD broadcast channel too.
