Sound Bar Connectivity to Sky Q by Bluetooth

My Hitachi sound bar has Bluetooth connectivity, but no display screen or keyboard by which to enter the box's Bluetooth authentication codes. (Setup>Settings>Music>Add a device....>)

Normally, the bar is 'discovered' by the TV (once powered up), but the viewer is challenged by the TV to validate its Bluetooth connection). I would prefer to just connect to the SKY Q box, but I cannot authenticate.

Suggestions?

Hi @Julian54 I'm afraid that there is no A2DP transmitter included in the Sky Q box so connecting a sound bar by Bluetooth is impossible.

...but I can connect my iPhoneto the SKY Q via Bluetooth, no way to emulate that for a sound bar?

Hi @Julian54 I assume you mean pair your iPhone to the Sky Q box for audio. The Sky Q box has a Bluetooth receiver for this. Just no transmitter.

That's correct. However, I located the original optical cable for Hitachi sound bar, so no need for Bluetoot any longer 🙂
